“알겠어. 그렇게 할께. 나 지금 시금치와 딸기가 너무 먹고싶어,” Voca 가 말했다.

“정말 말도안되는 생각이구나. 그 아이디어는 네 머리속에서 그만 빙그르르 돌아야할것같은데,” Biggy 가 말했다.

“네가 뭐라고 말하는지는 모르겠다만, 니가 나를 괴롭히고 있다는 사실은 어렴풋이 알것같아,” Voca 가 덧붙였다.

“I used to hate living in outlying areas, because I’ve always wanted to live sumptuously. Then I knew that it was a fallacy to think that way. I realized that too much luxury can be deleterious,” said Voca.

“Well, I’m glad that you know,” said Biggy as he clattered away.

“But I guess I had amnesia. I had an inexorable demand to my parents: buy me luxury! So I continuously told my parents to work harder for more money. I was a cipher,” said Voca.

“What happened next?” asked Biggy.

“Well, I finally learned how to keep myself in leash, so I never asked them for luxury since then,” said Voca.

“Good boy, Voca. Wait, did the soup cans expire?” asked Biggy.

“No, it’s okay for you to eat them,” said Voca.

“예전에 난 외진곳에서 사는곳에 싫었어, 왜냐하면 난 항상 호화롭게 살고싶었거든. 근데 내 생각이 틀린생각이라는걸 알게되었어. 너무 많은 사치품은 해로울 수 있다는것을 꺠달았거든,” Voca 가 말했다.

“니가 알아서 다행이야,” Biggy 가 퉁탕퉁탕 걸어가며 말했다.

“근데 내가 기억상실증이 있었나봐. 부모님에게 굽힐 수 없는 요구를 했어: 사치품을 사달라! 그래서 계속 부모님보고 돈을 많이 벌기 위해서는 열심히 일하라고 말씀드렸어. 난 하찮은 인간이였어,” Voca 가 말했다.

“그 다음엔 어떻게 됬는데?” Biggy 가 물었다.

“드디어 난 내 자신을 억제하는 방법을 배웠지, 그래서 그 때부터 부모님에게 사치품에 대해 언급도 한적 없어,” Voca 가 말했다.

“잘했어, Voca. 잠깐만, 혹시 그 수프캔 유통기한이 지났니?” Biggy 가 물었다.

“아냐, 먹어도 돼,” Voca 가 말했다.

The boys then visited the town to buy ancillary materials for their house. At the town, they tenuously saw the coroners, acupuncturists, mercenaries with bayonets, and legions, because there was a backlash against the guru again. People were making caustic remarks about the guru, and the boys were afraid that something might happen, but they never forgot to lull each other’s troubled minds.

두 소년은 집의 보조적인 물건들을 사기 위해 마을을 다시 찾았다. 그들은 마을에서 검시관들, 한의사들, 총검을 든 용병들, 그리고 군부대들을 희미하게 보았다, 왜냐하면 권위자를 향한 반발이 다시 커졌기 때문이다. 사람들은 권위자에 대해서 신랄한 비평을 했고, 두 소년들은 무슨 일이 일어 날까 싶어 겁을 잔뜩 먹었지만 서로를 위로해 주는것을 잊지 않았다.

The townsmen criticized the guru who was at his zenith, because his claim was no longer tenable. The guru said it is possible to conjure up a dove with magic, and the townsmen claimed that he was a liar whom they should never confide secrets to. The townsmen adamantly said that it’s time for a renaissance, and that noxious guru must be confounded by the truth. Meanwhile, the boys, without knowing what exactly was going on, bought a sieve for a dime, and went back home.

마을 사람들은 전성기를 누리고 있는 권위자를 비판하였다, 왜냐면 그의 주장은 더이상 지지를 받을 수 없게 되었기 때문이다. 권위자는 요술로 비둘기를 나오게 할 수 있다고 말했지만, 마을 사람들은 저 권위자는 자신들의 비밀을 털어놓아서는 안되는 거짓말쟁이라고 주장하였다. 마을사람들은 이제는 부흥의 시대가 왔다고 단호하게 말했고, 불건전한 권위자는 진실을 통해 그가 틀렸음이 입증되어야한다고 말했다. 그 와중에 소년들은, 무슨 일이 일어나고 있는줄도 모르고, 체를 동전 한푼에 사서 집으로 돌아갔다.
