“Ok, stop. I don’t want to hear that lurid story,” said Voca.

“Everything I see is evocative of that day. A parachute reminds me of a Senator jumping off a cliff, and he’s seducing me to do the same,” said Biggy.

“Enough!” Voca screamed.

“내 생각에 그건 되게 좋은 생각인것 같아,” Voca 가 말했다.

“난 잘 모르겠어, 근데 내가 이거 말하면 너가 화낼것같아. 근데 내가 누워 있을때마다 상원의원들을 만났던 그 날이 떠올라. 소용돌이 치는 감정이 홍수처럼 밀려와 날 완패시키지,” Biggy 가 덧붙혔다.

“알겠어. 그만해. 그 무시무시한 이야기 듣기 싫어,” Voca 가 말했다.

“내가 보는 모든것이 그 날을 생각나게 해. 낙하산을 보면 낭떠러지에서 뛰어 내리는 상원의원이 생각나. 그리고 그가 나보고 뛰어내리라고 자꾸 감언이설로 꾀고있어,” Biggy 가 말했다.

“그만!” Voca 가 소리쳤다.

There was a conflagration, but the boys remained poised, because now that they had lived in this mountain for a few months, they overcame the revulsion and became nature seers. Some affected parts dissipated, and the police came to enquire the accident. The boys were candor enough to answer all the questions, and they were glad that they hurdled this difficult situation wisely. Although they were sad that their plan to save the mountain was miscarried, they never blamed themselves for being tortoises. In fact, they were happy that they at least tried to save the mountain.

큰 화재가 났지만 소년들은 침착했다, 왜냐하면 이 산에서 산지도 어언 몇개월이 지났고 그들은 공포감을 이겨내고 자연의 앞날을 내다보는 선각자가 되었기 때문이다. 불에 영향을 받은 부분들이 소멸되었고 경찰이 와서 사건에 대해 조사하였다. 소년들은 솔직하게 모든 질문에 대답하였고 그들은 자신들이 이 어려운 상황을 지혜롭게 극복했다는 사실에 감격했다. 산을 구하고자 했던 계획이 실패로 돌아가서 좀 슬펐지만, 그들은 자신들을 느린사람들이라고 부르며 자책하지 않았다. 오히려 그들은 자신들이 산을 구하기 위해 노력했다는 사실에 행복해했다.

“Ok. The fire was grandiose, so we have to amputate so many trees. I’m so sad to amputate these innocuous trees,” said Biggy.

“I know! And you know, paucity of trees engenders lack of clean air, so I’m worried,” Voca said.

“Oh, hey! Come here! There’s a kitten. I think it was detached from its mother. I see the signs of lactation,” added Biggy.

“Poor kitten! No wonder! Last night, I heard a plaintive cry near the bunker. I couldn’t find what it was, so I just came,” Voca added.

“Well, it’s here now! We need to feed her,” said Biggy.

“We should name her Ion, because her eyes look like molecules,” said Voca.

“그래. 불이 너무 컸기 때문에 많은 나무들을 절단해야해. 해가 없는 나무들을 잘라야 하는게 너무 슬퍼,” Biggy 가 말했다.

“내말이! 그리고 나무가 부족하면 깨끗한 공기가 부족해지는 상황을 불러일으키잖아, 그래서 나 좀 걱정돼,” Voca 가 말했다.

“아, 이봐! 여기에 와봐! 여기 아기 고양이가 있어. 엄마한테서 분리된것 같아. 젖을 먹은 흔적이 있네,” Biggy 가 덧붙혔다.

“불쌍한 아기고양이 같으니라구! 어쩐지! 어제 구슬픈 울음소리가 석탄 저장고 근처에서 나더라니. 뭔지 몰라서 그냥 왔는데,” Voca 가 덧붙혔다.

“어쨌든! 이제 여기있잖아! 고양이한테 밥을 먼저 주자,” Biggy 가 말했다.

“고양이 이름은 “이온” 이라고 짓자. 왜냐면 두 눈이 마치 분자를 닮았거든,” Voca 가 말했다.

“Ok. I wish I can take Ion to the mammoth gymnasium, so she can run and play. My family should’ve left it as legacy,” said Voca.

“No need. There are so many rabbles of burly men in turban,” added Biggy.

“우선 우리의 갈증을 풀기 위해서 차를 끓여줘. 그 다음엔 우유를 주세요,” Biggy 가 말했다.

“알겠어. 이온이 좀 봐! 코를 킁킁 거리네,” Voca 가 말했다.

“뜨거운 차 한 컵을 올려둘 커피잔을 주는것은 잊으면 안돼!” Biggy 가 말했다.

“알겠어. 나 이온이를 거대한 체육관에 대려갔으면 좋겠어, 그럼 거기서 뛰며 놀텐데. 우리 가족이 유산으로 두고 갔으면 얼마나 좋았을까,” Voca 가 말했다.

“그럴 필요없어. 거기엔 수건을 머리에 둘러감은 건장한 남성들의 무리들이 너무 많아, “ Biggy 가 덧붙혔다.
