I had the pleasure of experiencing Joy in person at a house concert.  Amazing is a word that easily fits this artist.  She is who she sings about.  She's bigger than any box you put her.  Soulful vocals.  Rock edged.  Folk influenced.  But, she's just Joy.  No need to catagorize this young lady becaue she's just like the title of latest album, "Bigger Than Your Box."  As warm and beautiful as the lovely tape hiss on an old jazz record, Bigger Than Your Box  leaves the listener uplifted, perhaps a little teary-eyed, and very much satisfied.
