Playing a major role in the pioneering of the 90's grunge scene isn't something many of us can display on our CV's. For Anton Brookes, however, this was very much his reality.
The bold Yorkshire-man worked as a PR for the leading grunge label, Sub Pop, during the late 80's and throughout the 90's. As such, he's worked alongside some of the biggest names that rock music has ever seen; Tad, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, and most notably (and closely), Nirvana. Anton worked up a very close relationship with Nirvana during his tenure at Sub Pop, having toured with them on countless occasions and being in the thick of the grunge scene during its meteoric rise.
Anton joins host Harry Blunt-Bigwood and co-host Jack Blunt-Bigwood on this week's edition of Bigwood's Big Talks to discuss his time as a PR at grunge label Sub Pop, his relationship with the infamous rock icon, Kurt Cobain, and his views on music as a whole.
Hope you enjoy! X
