Summer Tour 2022 Day 7: Lienz to Spittal an der Drau 

Gravel madness! 30 km of awesome gravel tracks, up and down, plus nice smooth bike lanes deep in the forest. We had it all today on an energetic ride with exciting hills and beautiful vistas.

Summer Tour 2022 Day 6: Bruneck to Lienz

Big nature. That’s today's theme. We rode through forests, in tunnels, along rivers, over hills (a lot), and screamed down a 40 km valley to Lienz. Oh, and we found a pro mountain bike race, too. Fun times.

Summer Tour 2022 Day 5: Sterzing to Bruneck

Sometimes you just know that something is special while you're doing it. That was the feeling on the tour today. The route to Bruneck winds up and down the hills along the Rienz River, sometimes steeply, other times flat and peaceful. Not a single kilometer disappoints.

Summer Tour 2022 Day 4: Innsbruck to Sterzing

Our first cycle crossing on the Brenner Pass, and it was amazing. Huge landscape views, lots of small villages and farms, and hills - lots of hills. Plus a coffee just when we needed one.

Summer Tour 2022 Day 3: Garmisch to Innsbruck

Now I know why I’ve never seen a review of a bike tour from Garmisch to Innsbruck. Despite the never ending views of the mountains in every direction, and how nice Seefeld is, this route is not for the average cyclist on a summer ride.

Summer Tour 2022 Day 2: Ammersee to Partenkirchen

Garmisch is a great place to visit, it has a wonderful downtown, many historic buildings, and lots of restaurants and bars and almost every kind of food you can imagine that you’d like to eat. The buildings are historic and many have painted walls with large murals.

Summer Tour 2022 Day 1: Augsburg to Ammersee

That was a hot day that we will long remember. The first day on the summer tour and we had the “summer” part all day. The landscape is perfectly typical Bavarian, with farms and forests, rivers and lakes.

Day 2 of our trip was a 90km ride south from Burghausen to Bad Reichenhall, with only 800m of climbing.

Day 1 of our tour, and with only 34 kms to ride, we had no idea how hard this day was going to be.
