Singhwas initially facing state charges in San Joaquin County related tothese offenses. On July 21, 2025, he failed to appear at a courtappearance and the state court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.On July 23, 2025, the FBI received an alert from the U.S. Customs andBorder Protection that Singh had booked a ticket to India and wasscheduled to depart from the San Francisco International Airport onJuly 26, 2025. On that date, officers located and arrested Singh atthe airport before he could flee. Singh remains in federal custody.
Thiscase is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau ofInvestigation; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms andExplosives; Enforcement and Removal Operations; Homeland SecurityInvestigations; the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office;the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Explosive OrdinanceDetail; the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office SpecialInvestigations Unit; the Stockton Police Department; and U.S. Customsand Border Protection. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alex Cárdenas andAdrian Kinsella are prosecuting the case.
