Biomedical Informatics Roundtable Podcast

This is episode 18 of the Biomedical Informatics Roundtable Podcast. Dr. Jason Moore hosts this episode with discussions of AI hype, tips for deep learning in the biomedical sciences, and service as a leader. This episode also features news, open data, and a journal club discussion.

In this episode, Jason and Marylyn are back together to discuss progress in their new leadership roles. Marylyn discusses her experience organizing and attending an in-person bioinformatics conference during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this episode, Jason flies solo and announces his new position as founding Chair of the Department of Computational Biomedicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is joined by Dr. Kevin Johnson from Vanderbilt University to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of changing institutions. News and items of interest are covered.
