Bipolar, depression, and anxiety. What is it, and where do we go from here?

Listen Later

This episode is dedicated to Tall John Heff, Elisabeth’s dad, who had a birthday on September 27th - this one is for you daddy-o! September was Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and although this comes out in October, we believe this is a topic that should be discussed whenever and wherever. Trigger warning - we will be discussing suicidal ideation, mental illness, and alcohol and drug abuse. Today we are discussing bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. We talk about what these disorders are, how they might manifest, and our own personal journeys with these. If you are feeling like you are suicidal or in a crisis then please reach out to someone, or if you are in the United States call or text the National Suicide Hotline at 988. If you want to raise awareness, learn more, or volunteer please visit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org or visit their Instagram at @afspnational ! Another great organization is Stand For the Silent Official which is an international bullying and suicide prevention nonprofit. You can follow their Instagram at @sftsorg ! And as always please follow us on Instagram at @bitchesdontbrunchpodcast and also @spellbell.poet and @mbigsky - and feel free to drop a line if you need to talk to someone or ask questions. If you have any questions or suggestions please email us at [email protected] - and we will see you next week. We love you!
