When Zechariah and Elizabeth found out that they would be parents, they believed that pregnancy was an impossibility. In fact, Zechariah doubted. This, however, is just the evidence we need as Christians. They were not barren because of sin, and they did not conceive because of their faith. They were both afflicted and blessed because of the sovereignty of God.
