This episode covers some of the events surrounding the creation and delivery of Symantec’s LiveUpdate technology. The challenges in bringing this to market were more related to corporate politics and company culture than the implementation of an emerging technology. LiveUpdate is a feature still prominently marketed and used today. Nearly all personal computer users have used it at one time or another. There are many more interested facets of this project to be covered in subsequent episodes.
Picture is from an early LiveUpdate implementation most likely around 1997.
