With age comes newfound wisdom. For Gavin, this has been the case. He just celebrated his 33rd birthday as he recorded this episode. And as a way of celebrating it, he came up with three lessons he has learned in the three years after turning thirty. These have impacted much of his personal life and business. And there's no reason these won't do the same for you. Let's have a rundown of them here.
First off, 'Your environment dictates your success.' How could it not be truer? Surrounding yourself with like-minded and positive people activates that positive impulse in you. They only have your best interest at heart. With positivity exuding from each of them, how can you not absorb them and become the best you can be? It's about time you weed off people, even friends, and acquaintances that's not serving you any purpose. Choose the messages you want to hear, listen to podcasts that help you become your better self. Immerse with nature. Get connected emotionally on a deeper level with yourself and with people who truly matter. With that said, Gavin has accomplished something in his life and business he never imagined he could. The second lesson would be, 'You can either take the easy way, or you can lean into the challenge.' What often holds us back is the fear of the unknown, thus letting ourselves slide down to what's comfortable but mediocre, and gives us dissatisfaction and burnout in the long run. It's about looking at things objectively this time; if things didn't work out, learn to tweak it this time. Seek out mentors and coaches and take massive action. When Gavin did what was just mentioned, he earned his first high ticket sale, followed by another, and before he knew it, he's now having a solid personal training check coming in each month. He could only look back and be thankful he leaned into the challenge and made something out of it. The third lesson is 'Stop hiding. Stop pretending to be someone you're not.' It may be a cliche, but it's true, be your authentic self. Pursue that which makes you happy. Don't do something to conform and fit in. When you step into who you indeed are, that's when you can have success in your personal life and all other areas of your life.
Take a hard look at your life now; are you geared up for success? At Maverick Coaching Academy, we help you align your purpose with these six categories: yourself, your body, nature, relationships, networks, and your financial environment. We want to build a community of personal trainers ready to bring in more money each month and live a better lifestyle.
"I do want to bring you three lessons I've learned over this past year about life and business. Because I truly believe the two actually go hand in hand. When life is good, business can flow easily. When business is going wel, everything in life just gets better. But when you're not in alignment in your life, your business will always sputter and stay broken, it's going to be unable to grow to that place that you want it to be." - Gavin Mchale
