Rivermoon 1970 asked on Tumblr: I find that in some of my stories I use time jumps, not a lot and often not more than a couple of years at the most. However I usually try to have a very short explanation and try to avoid info dumps. I've noticed quite a few fics that have huge time jumps 10+ years often with no explanation. Happens a lot in the HP, Supernatural and Buffy fandoms.
