This week on The Bitcoin Fortress Podcast, we're watching two powerful economic forces collide. Capital is becoming more expensive as bond yields climb, inflation persists, and governments struggle with mounting debt. At the same time, artificial intelligence is making once-expensive capabilities increasingly abundant. We examine Bitcoin's resilience, the changing regulatory landscape, turmoil in global bond markets, the enormous financing demands of AI, and what it all means for monetary sovereignty. We also explore conversations from the Bitcoin podcast universe and feature my latest Substack essay, When Intelligence Becomes Cheap. The common thread? The old assumptions about money, value, and scarcity are being challenged.

Bitcoin spent another week doing something increasingly interesting: refusing to behave the way the old models say it should.
Treasury yields pushed above 5%. The dollar strengthened. Gold sold off. The Federal Reserve remained hawkish. The labor market weakened. And yet Bitcoin held together, institutional money continued moving into the asset, and corporate buyers kept stacking.
Maybe the story isn't simply that Bitcoin is getting stronger.
Maybe the map itself is changing.
This week we look at the return of expensive money, Bitcoin's surprising resilience, Strategy and Strive continuing to accumulate, the IMF's increasingly awkward relationship with El Salvador, growing political pressure around stablecoins, Bitcoin mining's collision with the AI energy buildout, and a Bitcoin podcast universe increasingly focused on sovereignty, self-custody, AI, tokenization and the changing architecture of money.
Then we'll connect all of it to this week's Bitcoin Fortress essay, The Great Repricing.

In this episode: Bitcoin pushes back toward the mid-$80,000s as ETF inflows accelerate, while stress continues to build in the supposedly “safe” parts of the financial system. We look at the 10-year Treasury above 5%, Japan raising rates while the yen weakens, tightening global diesel supplies, Strategy buying Bitcoin again, Sequans exiting its Bitcoin treasury, and the continued migration of traditional finance onto digital rails. We also explore this week’s Bitcoin podcast conversation around sovereign debt, global liquidity and Bitcoin’s declining volatility before finishing with The Gift of Solitude and a different kind of sovereignty—the ability to be comfortable with your own thoughts in an increasingly noisy world.

In this episode: We return from vacation to a financial system that looks increasingly difficult to manage. The 10-year Treasury crosses 5%, Treasury expands its own bond buybacks, oil remains above $100, the Fed raises rates, and Japan hikes rates only to watch the yen weaken. Meanwhile, Bitcoin absorbs all of it and rallies back above $80,000. We dig into the failure of the CLARITY Act, the SEC's move toward tokenized stocks, continued institutional Bitcoin adoption, Strategy's evolving capital structure, and the security lessons from the Liquid and Coldcard exploits. Plus, we look at the latest themes across the Bitcoin podcast universe and this week's Bitcoin Fortress essay on building resilience instead of trying to predict the future.

In this episode: Bitcoin remains stuck in a frustrating bear market, but beneath the price action the network and its surrounding infrastructure continue to strengthen. This week we look at whale accumulation, ETF flows, miner selling, Strategy and the evolving Bitcoin treasury model, the convergence of Bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure, and the emergence of institutional Bitcoin-backed credit. We also examine the latest delay in the CLARITY Act, the SEC’s regulatory push, Tether’s first Big Four audit, growing Wall Street exposure, and another reminder about the importance of privacy and self-custody. Plus, we survey the Bitcoin podcast universe, feature “The Discipline of Enough,” and discuss why sometimes the hardest part of a Bitcoin bear market isn’t price pain—it’s time.
