One of the hardest things to face in life is to forgive someone who has wronged or hurt you deeply. Whether it’s a parent, close friend, sibling, coach, teacher, or anyone at all, when someone hurts you, it can be hard to let it go and move on. In fact, it can feel sweet to stay bitter. But when we don’t forgive, it actually ends up hurting us even more. Forgiveness reminds us of God’s love and mercy for us. We’re not perfect in any way, and even though forgiveness can take time for us to extend to others, God has forgiven us completely for all of our sins. When we know God and experience true forgiveness ourselves, we’re more willing to forgive others.
