Baby loss is more prevalent in Black communities in the UK than in white communities and yet Black women and families access the support available to them less often. Following the loss of her son, midwife Alicia Burnett decided to do something to address the lack of relevant and targeted information for Black and mixed Black heritage people who've experienced baby loss and has created Black Baby Loss Awareness Week (15 - 21 May 2023).

Hear about the challenges faced by Black women; the systemic racism that contributes to higher baby loss rates and the lack of representation that means that they don't access the available support, and find out about how Black Baby Loss Awareness Week and Alicia are working to address some of these challenges.
