In honor of Juneteenth I wanted to feature my friend and former colleague Maria Powell. As an activist in the Dallas community, Maria is also a yoga instructor/educator, education co-chair for the Melanin Yoga Project, Ayurvedic wellness counselor, and board member for nonprofit Trinity Athletics that provides fitness programs to schools in underserved areas of Dallas. We we will be talking about her story over the years, finding a voice, being a minority, and being a leader to others through BLM and today.
