Then I got distracted, and it took another day to upload and publish.

Unlike most episodes, this one is not me starting my day, planning things, or getting things done.

This time, I describe some of the things and systems I use to help me start my day, plan things, and get things done.

Needed to go from scattered to focused, so I recorded this minisode of getting myself ready to run errands. Also discussed body doubling and rubber ducking in the last few minutes.

An attempt to start my day. Pre-recording, I assembled my Do Deck hand for the day. This episode is an hour of me wandering around the house, getting some things done, and trying to find the five-foot long wooden staff that I misplaced in the house earlier in the recording.

Seriously. A five or five-and-a-half foot long wooden hardwood staff. Had it in my hands. Walked into another room. Had to search the house multiple times, finally giving up in the last minutes of the recording, only to find it exactly where I left it.

A half-hour episode of me trying to get my mind off Wordpress customization and on the day ahead.

Basically, decompressing after many hours of hyperfocus yesterday, and trying to prevent it from happening again today… at least until I’ve got the important things taken care of for the day.

Also some cat meows near the beginning.

Mostly a rambling monologue on some of the objects and methods I use to accommodate my neurodivergences and physical disabilities.

Unlike my typical podcasts, where I’m trying to get things done or start my day, this was recorded to pass an hour of time, and was more relaxing than ranting about the state of the world for an hour.

The person who calls me on a schedule and listens as I think out loud and reminds me of things I’d said previously is too sick to do that today, so I thought out loud into a podcast instead.

Mostly just me going through a checklist of things and spending some time thinking about and/or doing them.

I used to have someone call me three times a week to be an extra brain while I thought and planned and tasked, but switched to twice a week a while back.

The cards I use to remind me of things include my ‘call cards’ with the checklist to go through during each call.

When I dropped down to two calls per week, I turned one of the call cards into a no-call card, so I could try to coax myself through the checklist without help once a week.

That’s the majority of this episode—me, working my way through my no-call card checklist.

It’s the first day of the new year, according to the Gregorian calendar, and I wanted to record an episode. Except I didn’t have the energy to talk for a full hour. So you get this minisode.

I’m less eloquent and more unfocused than typical, and there was very little useful that was actually said, but I did make food for myself and got started on some stuff in the kitchen.
