Black British Style opened with a Burton pale blue two-piece suit (1960), owned by Julian Bridgman who came to the UK from Grenada in 1960. Carol is a writer and curator and Professor of Dress, Diaspora, and Transnationalism at the University of the Arts London. She is a member of the Transnational Art, Identity and Nation Research Centre and is the TrAIN/V&A Fellow in the Research Department of the V&A Museum. Black British Style was devised by Carol and curated with Shaun Cole.
