Sunderland AFC are now officially a Premier League team after 1-2 win over Sheffield United at Wembley in the Championship Playoff Final.

To celebrate it we're doing a 3 part special in English and a further episode in Spanish with our international fanbase and regular contributors to the podcast.

All roads lead to Wembley as we are edging closer to the biggest game of the season and in many years when we face Sheffield United this Saturday 24th of May in the Championship playoff final for a place in the Premier League.

To look back on an unforgettable last minute goal from Dan Ballard as well as preview the final, Bilbao Black Cats' Lee Thirkell was joined by Peter Showler in Washington state, USA, Dermot Ledwith usually in Madrid but on business in Alicante and Jeff Barker in Menorca.

A last minute headed equaliser from man of the match in both legs, Big Dan Ballard helped the lads to a 3-2 aggregate win over Coventry which takes us to the playoff final on the 24th of May in which we'll play Sheffield Utd.

Lee Thirkell from the Bilbao Black Cats was joined by Dan Dimitrov from the Bulgarian Sunderland Supporters Association, Ian McNee from the German Black Cats and Paul Clark in Barcelona who made an express trip in 24 hours to see the lads get to the final in one of the most unforgettable atmospheres the Stadium of Light has ever seen.

The lads produced a determined performance and grabbed a 1-2 win to take back to the Stadium of Light thanks to goals from Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda. A special mention must go to Dan Ballard who was absolutely immense at the heart of the defence.

We're just a day away from the 1st leg of the playoffs vs Coventry City so we decided to dig out (not exhume Jimmy Hill's remains) a blues fan who we know quite well.
