Why are some black millennials not going to church ? Why is black church full of rules and stigmas?

Why do we cause division over domination and the race and style of your pastor?

We focus on the following of man vs the following of the Word.

I can wear whatever I want to church and still praise Him.

I don't need on a suit, pantyhose, and hat to qualify to be in the house of the Lord

That's why young people don't want to come to church because some of them are wounded by man-made traditions passed down.

"Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ."

Let's pass the true gospel down.

"You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross."

Going to church is somehow your good deed for you to have a better week.

Checkbox I'm done. Just took a word to the car that ain't gonna make it to the stoplight or pass lunch.

Keep it in the four walls. I'm serving on the usher board, flower committee, all these committees but in the workplace or school not telling no one about Jesus.

I never heard missions or missionaries until I got to a multi cultural church.

Jesus said ...Go into all nations

Quiet time what's that? Jesus did it. "Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray."

Confront a sister on her sin ? Never. Let's throw condemnation on her. Let's just talk about her.

No one told me there was no condemnation Romans 8:1

I lived with feeling condemnation for my sexual sins and wedlock pregnancy for years. Because I broke the rules.

I'm not saying black is worse or white is better. I'm saying the difference being at a multicultural church was profound and it changed my life 10 years ago.

But what I noticed is people getting saved. Giving their life to Christ. What I saw was baptism. I learned about true community and I was shown how to study the word of God on my own.

It's time for this stuck in our ways days to be done. So we can truly grow the next generations. Because when sister Williams and Brother Johnson die will they little grands be the church.
