Healing, Nursing, Doctoring is a huge part of Black History. African Americans in the Medical field is important to black history and the black future. Africans passed down healing remedies from generation to generation. Africans that were slaves brought the healing knowledge to American plantations. African Americans had knowledge of plants to create medicine. It was common for A black midwife to deliver babies for blacks and whites. They nursed them and took care of them. African Americans such as James Durham, Rebecca Crumpler, Mary Coley, Susie Taylor, Mary Mahoney, James Mccune Smith, Daniel Hale Williams, & Onesimus contributed to medicine in america. Their is racism in health care and discrimination in health care.
