Big Sister, Spring Woodson, and her daughter (our niece) Ashlyn showed up to Utah and we had some adventures to talk about! This was our first time meeting each other, and it was epic! This was such a fun podcast to do, and we are excited for you to listen to the craziness that it turns into. There will be a part 2, so stayed tuned. 

And here it is!!!! Part 2 of The Woodson's coming to Utah and our awesome adventures. 

Nate and Jess had the privilege to meet a family member for the first time. Spring Woodson, Nate's sister he has never met, sent her son to Utah to have a visit. It was an awesome week, full of great food, planning for Nate's retirement in Louisiana, and opening doors to connecting to family, finally, after so many years of not making that connection. It was very wild to see how much Micah and Nate have in common, and how Micah was the perfect person to come to Utah and do some recon for Spring and her family. The next time you see us, we'll be at Lake Ashwaganda in Eastern Alabama soaking up to sun and catching some bass. 

Nate and Jess finally sit down and drop a banger of an episode. They talk about 2023 and some highlights with the family, sporting events, kids sports, new assignments, and the wild life they live as a Lord family. 

On 9/11/23 Jason Mazuran and Doug Lambert visit the BHOTC and share their stories about "where they were" on 9/11 and we talk about the impact of that day on a micro level. 
Then we get into the crazy adventure of going from investigating "dirty drugs" to having to change their entire investigative process to begin to infiltrate the Club Drug scene in Salt Lake County and how it had national impacts at the turn of the century! 

"Months have gone by, and still no new episodes?!!" Well, you can't say that anymore? Nate talks about some updates with the family and some thoughts on the turmoil going on with his current employer! 

What is your "WHY"? Why do you serve? Why did you choose to be a cop? Nate's reason can be articulated in one quote, and he shares that quote in this episode.

Nate talks about the podcast funk & wanting to produce quality over quantity episodes. We dive in to living with a purpose and having goals, specifically Nate's leadership goals. Then we dive deeper and talk God, Spirituality and what we're figuring out for us.

Matt and Josh are back and we are trying to establish a title for the episodes when the three of us get together and talk about random stuff. Today we talked about getting feedback from others, Christmas traditions, cooking, leadership, and currents events in Salt Lake County.

Nate and Jess sit down and drop Part 1 of the comparisons between an Empath versus the Ego in us all. We discuss the reason for people for getting into being a police officer versus the reason they stay in the industry and how promotions and rejection can hinder our success if we are not careful with a PURPOSE.
