Rhinda Larsen asked us on our Facebook page: “I have Elinchrom 500/500 bxri to go kits so 2x 66cm soft boxes, i also have a 120 x 80 soft box and a small Elinchrom reflector with grid – can you give me some interesting setups using 2 lights? I also have a 5 in 1 reflector kit and a black and white popup background. I really want to shoot more low key images & talk about small strobes and location lighting”

} the broader the source = softer
} the closer = softer
} diffusion of the light makes it broader = softer
} bouncing a light = diffusion
} the inverse square = a light twice as far from your subject, you end up with only one-quarter of the light on the subject. read more about that here and here.
