Charlie Kaufman is making the jump to Netflix. The writer of films like Being John Malkovich, Adaptation., and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and director of Syncedoche, New York will write and direct a film adaptation of the Iain Reid novel I'm Thinking of Ending Things; this according to a report from Variety. AGREE/DISAGREE An unofficial set photo (and first look) has landed online for Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. The movie is directed by Half-Nelson directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, telling what will be the MCU's first prequel story. The movie takes place in the 1990s and will reveal Larson character's origins, with Samuel L. Jackson co-starring as Nick Fury. Deadline reports that Casey Affleck has withdrawn from presenting the Best Actress Award at this year's Academy Awards. According to the trade, Affleck notified the Academy of his decision, claiming he did not want to become a distraction from the focus that should be on the performances of the actresses. Composer Hans Zimmer has been out of the superhero movie game for a few years now, but it appears he's ready to come out of "retirement" by agreeing to score X-Men Dark Phoenix. Collider had originally heard rumblings that Zimmer might be scoring the 20th Century Fox superhero film, with co-star Evan Peters recently confirming the news while appearing on Josh Horowitz's podcast HappySadConfused. In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, Sony motion pictures chief Tom Rothman has confirmed talk of a third Jumanji movie, with the head of the studio hoping it will be ready for Christmas 2019. This would put the movie head to head again with a Star Wars movie, as JJ Abrams Episode 9 has already secured a December 20, 2019 release date.
