No one should have to bury a child. NO ONE.
Yes, if the “Circle of Life” remains intact, we are ultimately supposed to bury our grandparents and parents before we leave this thing called “life.”
But losing your child is HANDS DOWN the most insufferable tragedy a human being can ever experience. And we all need to keep Regina King and her family lifted up in prayer as they attempt to find answers on why Ian Alexander Jr. is no longer with us.
And that IS the question we are asking ourselves today.
How? Why? What happened?
Were there any signs leading up to the tragedy?
Do members of OUR families show any signs or symptoms?
Are young African-Americans prone to harming themselves?
How do we learn from this moment?
An uncomfortable conversation.
Yet, a NECESSARY conversation.
