BLADE started flying in the Summer 2014. Looking back, Blade’s capabilities today are incomparable to those in that first summer. Its simple booking app then, by design scalable / modular, is now a portal handling everything from accounting, operator & passenger communications, regulatory filings, W&B, et al. BLADE was born from an idea CEO Rob Wiesenthal had while at Sony’s corporate flight department. He realized companies were flying one person around alone on helicopters on a regular basis and that there was probably a way to both lower the price and also deliver a better experience.
Will Heyburn, Head of Corporate Development at BLADE Urban Air Mobility returns for a second episode of Asian Skycast. This time he speaks with ASG’s Jeffrey Lowe on Blade’s product line and the evolution of UAM & eVTOL. The two talk on Blade’s development over the last six years, how vertical transport technology & medical mobility has been growing, and Blade’s customer support during Covid-19. Will then speaks on the India market and shares his experience on expanding into different markets.
