The Unpaved Path

Blake Bolden: Female NHL Scout for the LA Kings

Listen Later

Blake Bolden is one of the coolest people I have ever met, who has accomplished many amazing things. She was a captain on Boston College’s Division 1 Women’s Ice Hockey team and was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Year as well as First Team Hockey East All-Star her senior year. She was the first black hockey player taken in the first round of the CWHL as well as the first to play in the NWHL, and in February 2020, she became the first black female NHL scout.

Also, another fun fact about her is that she partnered with Verbero to create the first female-named hockey stick. As you can see, she isn’t short of accomplishments, and the list could go on!

If you want to reach Blake or follow along on her journey, she can be found on Instagram @sportblake or on her website at blakebolden.com. Thanks for tuning in!
