Blaming Others and Setting Expectations

It's easy to blame others and not take personal accountability.  Relationships that do not prioritize values 3 and 4 are destined to fail.  

3. No Introspection A lack of desire for self improvement is usually associated with closed-mindedness. Be open to new ideas - and this starts with not jumping to conclusions. Jumping to conclusions is all too familiar in today's society, especially with triggering headlines. You can increase your open-mindedness by getting your news source from multiple places, not just one source. Triangulate your thoughts and think before you react to triggering headlines. This alone will help you to be more open-minded and aware of the many biases in the media.  

4. Setting unrealistic expectations - on yourself as well as your partner can also set your relationship up for failure. When things don't go as planned, hold yourself accountable as much as possible.
