Daniela was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Puerto Rico. Daniela is a proud graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School, class of 2008. After high school, Daniela attended the University of South Florida, where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology, cum laude. Later, Daniela obtained a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and Correctional Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Lastly, Daniela obtained a Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. 

While in law school, Daniela interned with the Cooley Innocence Project, where she reviewed and worked on claims of innocence. While volunteering her time at the Project, she assisted in the exoneration of Ledura Watkins, a man who spent 41 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

Upon being sworn and admitted to the Florida Bar, Daniela joined the Law Offices of Julianne Holt, Public Defender, 13th Judicial Circuit. While at the Public Defender’s office, Daniela represented juveniles charged with both misdemeanor and felony crimes. 

Currently, Daniela serves as the Campus Director at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay Campus. Additionally, Daniela is the Legal Counsel to The Sunny Center in Tampa. The Sunny Center assists individuals with temporary and permanent housing to those wrongfully convicted. Daniela volunteers her time as an Attorney Ad Litem (AAL) for juveniles in Delinquency court proceedings in the13th Judicial Circuit. 

Daniela resides in Brandon, FL, with her husband and high school sweetheart, Josef, and their dog, Emmie.
