Fishing experts work hard to increase their effectiveness for catching fish. There are lots of tools, lures and strategies for coaxing fish to take the bait. But it all comes down to convincing the fish to pursue the bait.

Jesus said that He would make us fishers of men. We’re good at developing programs, methods and strategies for sharing the gospel. But, at the end of the day, redemption and the work of transforming hearts is the sole territory of God and His Spirit. To enter into His work of salvation, our efforts at evangelism, by necessity, need to begin, saturate and end with prayer.

Today, we’ll talk about the BLESS principle, the importance of prayer to the evangelism enterprise and how we can deepen our efforts of praying for our neighbors.
