In this sermon, we look at Jesus statement, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." We explore mercy through examples of God showing mercy throughout Scripture. Mercy is something that we cannot earn and it is offered regardless of where we are or what we have done. In light of receiving such mercy, we are invited to live in a world very different than the one we are taught where everything is based on what we are worthy of. If mercy is a free gift we only need to accept, what might this mean for how we show mercy to others?
