We all have a God shaped hole in our hearts that only God can fill. Jesus addressed a man delivered from a demon warning him to fill that hole or the demon would return with other demons. The next three short accounts seem to be Luke's compilations of teachings that instruct us what needs to fill our emptiness so that the light in us not only blesses us but others as well.
