Blessed Manuel Gomez Gonzalez was born in Spain on the 29 May 1877. He was ordained in 1902 in the archdiocese of Braga, Portugal and was later transferred to the diocese of Frederico Westphalen, Brazil in 1913. Manuel is known as a concerned pastor to his flock, and for his social work. He was martyred with his altar boy, Blessed Adilo Daronche on the 21 May 1924 and was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI in 2006.
