We are kicking off a new series: "Blessed", based on the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5. In the opening of His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus delivers the Beatitudes—revolutionary declarations of who is truly "blessed" in God's upside-down kingdom. Far from worldly ideas of success through power, wealth, or self-sufficiency, Jesus begins with "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3), inviting us to recognize our spiritual bankruptcy and complete dependence on God's grace. This foundational blessing sets the tone for the entire series: true flourishing and divine favor come not from what we achieve or possess, but from humble surrender to Him. As we launch into exploring these profound truths, we discover that the kingdom belongs right now to those who acknowledge their need—and it transforms how we live, love, and lead in every area of life.
