Publisher's Summary:
Can you love someone and still be free? Emma Wyatt agrees to tutor a recently blinded, embittered soldier because of the $50,000 paycheck his brother offers. Blind herself, Emma dreams of independence and freedom away from her overprotective family. But when she's attracted to her student, she fears falling for him means giving up her dreams.
Can you protect someone who you cannot see? Good soldiers show no weakness. Ian MacGregor holds his battle with claustrophobia close to his chest, unsuccessfully trying to cope on his own. He's lost in the dark and struggling to accept his fate. Ian knows duty, honor and service to his country. Ian's desire for Emma is overshadowed by the danger lurking around them. Emma would be better off with someone else. Someone sighted. Someone able to protect her from the person determined to keep them apart.
"Blind Man's Bluff is a book that grabs hold of your heartstrings and keeps you turning the pages until you sigh with contentment at the end. Strong characters; a fabulous story! In my opinion, you can't go wrong. A definite keeper." (Best-selling Author Catherine Anderson).
"Kay Stockham's stories are at once sweet and sexy, deeply emotional, and sprinkled lightly with suspense for good measure. Everything you could want in a book and more." (Award-winning author Toni Blake)

Compelling Love Story!
This book was recommended to me when looking for some other books to add to my Kindle, and I'm so glad I bought it! The story between Emma and Iam is compelling, and overall, beautifully developed.
I loved how Emma, despite her blindness, is a courageous woman, capable of doing anything she sets her mind to, even bartending! Loved her attitude all throught the book, and with every adversity she faced. Loved Ian as well. Even though he was still reeling from what happened to him, he showed backbone, and the way he was written, I couldn't help falling in love with him, just like Emma did.
The story is beautifully written, and even though there is an expected turn of events spoiled in another review below (you could figure it out from the first pages of the book anyway), there is a major twist I never saw coming! This book had me turning pages and reading at every chance I could... I just coudn't put it down. I really hope the author continues this series, as I really want to know what happens with Emma and Ian... I want a full book sequel, not just a tiny epilogue!
Where I'm taking the star off is for the Kindle edition... There are no gramatical errors (thank God!) but there are some dialogue scenes that have dialogue from the two people speaking in the same pharagraph. I found this a little confusing at times.
Romance...good, mystery...not so much....
Apart from the stalker's identity being fairly obvious quite early on, the plot and characters were well-developed and interesting. The depiction of Ian's struggle with his double disability of long term claustrophobia and recent blindness was particularly affecting. The twist involving Emma was a bit cliche, but was more positive than negative in terms of further angst. The author does have a knack for writing appealingly Flawed and Tortured heroes.
