Augmented reality is where you look at something through a mobile device and get a different response. Maybe a logo that pops out on the screen or information on what you are seeing. blippar – blippar.com is one of those programs.
Blippar has a client list that uses the software to enhance a logo. Their packaging will have “Blipper enabled” on the side. Point your iPhone or iPad at the product and Blippar will show you whats hidden. One magazine gives you an 8-bit game to play. A couple music groups let you listen to their music. A candy bar allows you to vote for a chance to win.
Blippar is mostly for the iPhone – since you will most likely have that with you when you shop – but they did make an iPad version. Blippar is free and is also available for Android devices.
