What happens when a small London nightclub becomes the centre of a cultural revolution? This week on Low Noise, I explore a major exhibition at the Design Museum dedicated to the legendary Blitz Club - the short-lived but hugely influential club night that helped redefine the look and sound of 1980s London. From its beginnings in a Covent Garden basement, Blitz became the birthplace of the New Romantic movement and a gathering point for a generation of young creatives whose ideas would soon reshape fashion, music, film, art and design. In this episode, I reflect on the exhibition and the remarkable cultural moment it celebrates - when London nightlife became a laboratory for style, identity and artistic experimentation.
I do hope that you enjoy this episode.
