Are you enjoying your life? This is a question that’s been on my mind lately. And as we ease further into 2019, I’m recognizing that I’d love to feel more calm in my day-to-day moments this year.
My husband’s always reminding me not to stress about things that are in the future and out of my control. But I can’t seem to help it. The nature of my work involves a schedule that’s constantly fluctuating and this is awesome on one-hand, but it also has its challenges. For one thing, planning ahead is often more complicated than I’d like. And I have a tendency to accidentally jam-pack my day. But if I want to feel more calm. I’ve got to figure out a better way to manage my schedule.
This is the conclusion I came to in the first week of 2019 and it’s something I’ll probably be focusing on for most of this year. Looking back at 2018, it involved a lot of hustling. And it was really tiring, but also really good for me. I fully expect that hard work to continue this year, but my hope is to incorporate more flow and ease in as well. To make more time to check in with my gut before taking an action or committing to things. To prioritize taking care of my body and personal needs just as much as work. And to include more joy in my day-to-day life. Because if I don’t do this for myself, nobody else will.
We are responsible for our own well-being and joy.
As I get older, I’m finding myself less and less interested in setting goals or resolutions based on the idea of accomplishment. And pulled more towards making these decisions based on how I want to feel.
So how would YOU like to feel this week or month? And what can you do to invite more that feeling in?
Peace and blessings,
Hanaa
