My passions range widely from reading, writing and history, to musical theater and stand-up comedy, and even to sports and cooking. However, they are all connected by one similar thread: the desire to create, understand, and share narratives with others. At Connecticut College, I study history and religious studies to better understand the hegemonic forces which dominate our culture and our ways of living, and the forces of resistance that act against it. I am currently considering the role that corporations play in the shaping of childhood well-being and “wholesome” entertainment as I study the origins and early works of Disney Studios. Postgrad, I would love to work in publishing, museum work, or education to continue researching and sharing the narratives which both tell why society is the way it is, as well as uncover narratives buried by hegemony. In my spare time, I enjoy eating pizza and waffles, drinking mochas, and reading the works of Michel Foucault.
