Cormac McCarthy's novel Blood Meridian is packed with fairy lore, liminal spaces, and otherworldly beings. Exploring the Sonoran, Chihuahuan,  and Sierra Madre Occidental faerie zones in Blood Meridian enables a reader to transcend the western woodland conception of fairies into the Duende spirit. A manifestation of an otherworldly evil.
