Pornography has become one of the most widely indulged forms of "entertainment", generating about $97 billion annually. 

Porn and masturbation go hand in hand like bread and butter. While it may seem like an innocent pastime, this particular form of bondage is detrimental to the spiritual growth and walk of a Christian. 

On this episode of the podcast (with our guest Brother Beni) we take a deep dive into addiction to porn and masturbation. While it may seem harmless enough, we should be aware that there are serious spiritual consequences to engaging in any form of sexual immorality. Other than that the mental, psychological and physical side effects are damaging.

The Parable of the Prodigal son perfectly highlights the reality of what it means to backslide as a Christian. It also shows the perfect love of our Father and how He forgives us and holds nothing against us.

After being falsely accused of murder, Panji spent a year in Mukobeko prison in Kabwe. 

Panji finishes off his powerful testimony in this episode. He shares about finding Jesus in prison, prison life, going through divorce in prison, fellow inmates and life after prison.

In this episode, Panji shares his incredible testimony with us. He was falsely accused of murder and incarcerated at Mukubeko Maximum Security Prison. As someone who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, the prison conditions were harsh and unfamiliar.

Whilst in prison, Panji found Jesus and his story, with all its twists and turns, is truly a testimony to how intentional God is and how He only has good plans for us, we need only trust Him and trust His process.

I remember fasting with more than a little hesitation for the first time. I suffered from gastritis and was convinced the fast would eat my stomach from the inside out. Unbeknownst to me, that fast would be the beginning of a fervent life of fasting AND having my gastritis healed by the Lord. 

In Matthew 6:16-18 Jesus said "when you fast" not "if you fast", so we definitely know every Christian is expected to fast. It is an integral Christian discipline that enables us to become well rounded in our faith.

 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 reads Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love never fails.
 
This verse is the perfect standard to determine whether we are loving others or being loved as God intended.

This is our first episode with a guest, MWANSA!!! Yaaay. And it is also our first episode that is a little heavy, so please be aware that viewer discretion is advised. 

Sexual Immorality is the only sin we are encouraged to flee from as it is a sin against our own bodies (1 Cor 16:18). Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 16:19-20) and hopefully this conversation with Mwansa can help you realise that. 

We live in a society that sales sex and glamourises bondage. Therefore, as children of the Most High God, we need to ensure we are not of this world even though we are in it. 

Even in our more conservative African societies certain forms of sexual immorality are being promoted, while others are being condemned more harshly than others. It is up to us to lead lives pleasing to the Lord and not give into global peer pressure or succumb to a holier than though mentality because we sin differently from others.

Overcoming sexual immorality seems impossible and it definitely is challenging to do so, but all things are possible through Christ Jesus (Mark 10:27).

What better place to start than with entertainment? My life completely changed when I switched up what I was allowing into my ear and eye gates. I found it easier to hear from God, get rid of certain stumbling blocks and the resulting peace definitely surpassed all human understanding. 

I used to believe that Christian entertainment was boring, but I now know that that had more to do with me being spiritually blind than anything else, because HOW can anything that glorifies the Lord be boring? 

I pray this episode challenges you to do some introspection and really reflect on how what you listen to, watch or read affects not only your spiritual growth, but your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing too.
