In 1997 NOAA recorded a mysterious underwater sound louder than anything previously recorded. Its rhythm resembled an organic sea creature but larger than anything previously discovered. The public declared that the Bloop was a real sea monster. Years later, NOAA scientists declared that this sound emanated from an iceberg cracking and breaking away from an Antarctic glacier.
