Dog owners in the Southeast need to be particularly concerned about the dangers of contaminated water following the deaths of several dogs this summer. Dogs are especially susceptible to cyanotoxins found in blue-green algae that attack their nervous system. Toxic algae can be found all over the United States, so all dog owners need to be on the lookout and know what to do if their pet ever comes in contact with it.
