Blake Cavill’s baseball journey has taken him from Cronulla to the Little League World Series, the Sydney Blue Sox, three different US colleges and eventually the biggest stage in college baseball. Now, he’s coming home.

Andrew sits down with Blake to trace the full journey, from striking out 10 and homering at Williamsport to pitching for Sydney as a teenager, choosing hitting over the mound and finding his own college opportunity through a Google search and a few emails.

Blake also discusses playing alongside Jaylin Rae at Western Kentucky, finding a home at Troy and the remarkable run that carried the Trojans through four elimination games and into Omaha. A new era begins for the Sydney Blue Sox as Mike Roberts takes over as manager for the 2026/27 season.

Andrew sits down with Roberts to talk about the culture he wants to build in Sydney, why the best teams operate with “one heartbeat,” and how fun, preparation and old-school baseball IQ can come together to create a winning environment.

Roberts reflects on a coaching career that has taken him through college baseball, summer ball and professional organisations, including his remarkable turnaround at Grand Lake, where an 8–27 team became a 33–9 championship side in just one season.

We also get into the baseball itself: his aggressive approach on the bases, creating pressure through steals, bunts and hit-and-runs, the importance of players learning from one another, and why building genuine relationships comes before everything else.
