It’s time for another two hours of stunning blues with your host Ian McHugh, brought to you in association with our friends and sponsors at the Crawdaddy Club Richmond.

The music selection this week is packed with a huge variety of tunes, as well as the regular features, The Title Track Tango and the Song Remains the Same, and a chance to hear who’s up next at the Crawdaddy, in the shape of a song from the legend Papa George.

The Show begins with a classic Freddie King instrumental, before moving into a track from Bruce Mississippi Johnson and songs from 24 Pesos, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Lee Hooker. This week the Song Remains the Same is the amazing cover by the Steady Rolling Revue of Rockin Daddy, which is one of the best versions out there!

Add to that tracks from BB and the Bullets, The Paul garner Band, Muddy Waters, his oftener hamonica player Jerry Portnoy with the Streamliners, and another alumni with James Cotton. Taking us up to the Title Track Tango we have The Yardbirds (dedicated to Simon Dunckley), Davina and the Vagabonds and Tedeschi Trucks before we get into the feature with Giles Robson and Laura Rain and the Cesars.

We begin with Nick Curran and it doesn’t stop there, moving into the Chris Corcoran Band, The Reverend Shawn Amos, John Lee Hooker, and Mississippi MacDonald and the Cottonmouth Kings. You will also hear Anson Funderburgh, Debbie Davies, and Otis Grand, alongside Joe Louis Walker, Alice Armstrong, BB and the Bullets, and Son Henry and T Rogers.

The hits keep coming as the middle stretch brings you Bad Influence, Bobby Blue Bland, Ry Cooder, Jo Carley and the Old Dry Skulls, and Jad Tariq. We relive Swanage Blues Festival with a track from Emma Wilson, preview the Crawdaddy’s November gig with Papa George, and then bring you the Title Track Tango with Simo and Albert Collins. and Spoonful of Blues.

The music this week is a proper masterclass from across the spectrum. We are getting straight into the groove with Memphis vocalist Singa B, followed by Doyle Bramhall II, the raw Chicago sound of Taildragger, and Belgian bluesman Guy Verlinde. We also have firm favourites The Mustangs, a dose of classic Texan boogie from ZZ Top, the energy of Wailin Walker, and The Smoke Wagon Blues Band.

The quality doesn’t dip there as we bring you Mississippi MacDonald, aclassic track from Little Feat, Chicago legend Lurrie Bell, and heavy grit from Killin’ Floor. You will also hear the brilliant Robert Cray Band, Peter V Blues Train, and the incredible musicianship of the Tedeschi Trucks Band.

The quality stays sky-high as we move into cuts from the late, great Bernie Marsden’s latest release, a brilliant new collaboration from Ed Cosens with Toby Lee, and the expressive guitar work of Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters.
