Music, coffee, religion, cigarettes - the artefacts of social connection. As social beings, we are all shaped by 2 key drivers - the need to belong and the need to be significant. As a teen, I listened to Punk not because it was particularly talented or accomplished music, but because it gave me both of those drivers. We are, after all, emotional, beings justifying our behaviour in logical terms.
