Today is September 5, 2016. Travel back with me to this date in 2007. We’re in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium for an evening game between the second place Yankees and the second place Seattle Mariners. And though this game will make Yankees fans happy – the Yanks will beat the Mariners 10-2 – the purpose of our journey here today is to experience a treat for the ears. Unbeknownst to everyone at the game today, this will be the last time we hear the legendary voice of Yankees public address announcer Bob Sheppard work a game.
