Bob Soltys is the coauthor of A Lucky Life. A former Navy officer, he has been a photographer since 1967, when his aunts gave him a camera for Christmas. Later, he joined students at his high school who walked out to protest a teachers’ strike that would have prevented them from graduating. The local paper bought his pictures, launching a career documenting life’s joy and humor.

After his aging dog Lucky collapsed in the Colorado mountains in 2015, Bob helped Lucky tell his story. Bob joins us today from the Cleveland area, where he and Lucky live with Keuffel, and canary.
