His debut documentary film, The Marx Brothers In a Nutshell, received acclaim from PBS viewers and allowed him to continue his career in documentary filmmaking, where his subjects included an A-List of other famous comedians such as Woody Allen and Lenny Bruce. Meanwhile, he served as principal director and executive producer for Curb your Enthusiasm for 5 seasons, a position for which he would receive an Emmy award in its third season.
