Amidst smooth harmonies, rhythms inspired by a strong family lineage of Polynesian performance, and unassuming grooves that work a gradual, smile-inducing high through even a casual listener, Bobby Alu tunes have a way of sneaking into the subconscious and taking up residence. 

Though it’s not all palm trees and daydreams from the Australian/Samoan singer, ukulele-strummer and drummer – there’s a robust energy in Alu’s mastery of traditional Samoan drums, and a vitality to his songwriting that nods to world music, roots and pop. 

Bobby has shared his 'Ausmoan' sound performing in 27 countries at festivals and venues across the world. Opened shows for artists UB40, Xavier Rudd, John Butler and Trevor Hall. In 2018 he co-wrote and performed the theme song for the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in his hometown of the Gold Coast QLD Australia.
